What do I need to Use BitTorrent?

MAC OS X Clients

Deluge is a lightweight, Free Software, cross-platform BitTorrent client.

Official client v3.1 - Try this version of the client if you have difficulties with 3.2.2a 3.1 client with rate limiting patch - Its what it says, 3.1 with a limiting add-on.

Sarwat Khan's OS X client - An alternative to the standard OS X build, no details, because I don't have a way to test it.

Tomato Torrent - User interface for starting a torrent tracker, very customizable. Remembers recent downloads and where you've saved them to, making resumes quick and easy. Supports AppleScript.

Bits on Wheels - Bits on Wheels is the first 100% Native BitTorrent client for the Macintosh. It is completely written in Objective-C and Cocoa. It has a live 3D view of your swarm.

JAVA and others that run on Multiple Platforms

Snark 0.4 - In addition to being a BitTorrent client, Snark also includes an integrated .torrent file creator, micro-HTTPd server, and tracker. Users can share files with a single command, without installing a tracker, finding a web server or even posting the .torrent file. Compilation requires gcj 3.3 or higher.

Effusion 0.3 - Experimental Java client with IRC integration.

Azureus - Java client that includes a full-featured GUI with extensive visualizations/statistics about the transfer. You will need the 1.4 JRE installed to use this client. Obviously this client can be run on any platform that is java capable.

TorrentFlux - PHP based Torrent client that runs on a web server. Manage all of your Torrent downloads through a convenient web interface from anywhere. Runs on Linux and Windows.
